How is an online university different from a regular one?
The main differences are related to location and time. You don’t have to visit a campus on set dates and hours. You can take your courses in the comfort of your home, office, or any place you choose.
What are the advantages of UNYBT to other online universities?
University New York of Business and Technologies aspires to improve the regular distance learning experience by providing absolutely tuition-free programs, excellent study materials in various forms, personal attention and consideration for every student.
What is an accreditation? (according to DEAC deac.org)
Accreditation is a private, voluntary, non-governmental peer-review process that reviews the educational quality of an institution or program.
Is UNYBT accredited?
University New York of Business and Technologies has been founded with accreditation standards in mind. UNYBT will be pursuing accreditation (2020-2024) from the Accreditation Commission of the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), a U.S. Department of Education authorized accrediting agency. Currently, we are NOT accredited and we are preparing for DEAC process. The DEAC was founded in 1926 and is a private, non-profit organization that operates as a national accreditor.
The DEAC Accrediting Commission is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) as a national institutional accrediting organization.
Be aware that the accreditation process is very expensive - once a distance learning program is officially accredited, we will be pushed to raise the exam fees.
Is there an option UNYBT to choose to stay unaccredited?
UNYBT is founded with accreditation standards in mind! However, this is an option that we consider, and it is possible for UNYBT to choose to stay without formal accreditation.
We are going to pursue accreditation (2020-2024). During this time slot UNYBT team of experts and lawyer are engaged with this task. The process is expensive and full of challenges because our major goal is to:
- keep UNYBT tuition-free,
- keep the exam fee as low as possible and
- keep our doors open for everyone (including international students)
UNYBT will choose to stay unaccredited in case NY local rules and regulations demand from us to offer education only to graduates of certain colleges/universities in the US.
Are distance learning programs as high-quality as on-campus programs?
UNYBT offers not just affordable but top-of-the-line education. We make sure that our students have access to high-grade and thorough education by providing excellent study resources.
